This Project gives our older community the opportunity to meet new people, have a hot meal and share stories with like-minded people. We create a warm and friendly environment to help tackle social isolation and loneliness. We know that this service can sometimes be the only communication the elderly can come to have; therefore, this service is vital to the community. The meals are catered towards the groups likes and home made by our community workers. The meals are full of nutritional ingredients and could possibly be the only hot meal they receive. We offer this service weekly and deliver if any of the group are too ill to travel. The group can also look out for one another making sure they are ok – especially if they live on their own. There are many benefits that come from lunch with the bunch and we deem it incredibly important to support and look after our local community helping to prevent:

Social isolation – Loneliness – Depression – Poor nutrition – Dementia – Being inactive

Our main objective is to reduce social isolation through a hot meal and a blether with people who feel lonely and are on their own. In line with healthy living and active plans we aim to improve optimal nutrition by offering a hot meal that is nutritious and homemade.
